Quezon City, Philippines. Every February 1, which coincides with the commemoration of the attack against Fr. Claret in Holguín, Cuba, is dedicated to collectively honoring the memory of the 184 members of the Congregation of Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary who died during Church persecution in Mexico (1927) and Spain (1936-1939). They remained true to their mission, forgiving their executioners, showing love for Mary and the Church, caring for the needy, and demonstrating strong missionary zeal. We remember them, following the chronological order of beatifications: the 51 Martyrs of Barbastro (October 25, 1992), Fr. Andrés Solá Molist (November 20, 2005), the 23 Martyrs beatified in Tarragona (October 13, 2013), and the 109 beatified in Barcelona (October 22, 2017). And as a Province, we will remember in a special way, Fr. Rhoel Gallardo, CMF, martyr for peace.
