Project 25 – A Musical Promoting Political Awareness and Responsible Votership

Mar 30, 2025 | Claret School of Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City, Philippines. As the National and Local Elections on 12 May 2025 draw near, El Teatro Jóvenes de Claret, the theater arts club of Claret School of Zamboanga City (CSZC), will stage a musical production entitled “Project 25” from March 31 to April 5, 2025, at the Martires de Barbastro Auditorium. This powerful and timely performance aims to promote political awareness, responsible voters, and active citizenship during this crucial election period.

In his letter to the Claret School Community, Bro. Joseph Villarin, CMF, CSZC School Director, said:

This initiative also serves as a meaningful expression of our school motto: Scientia Maxime Cum Virtute (Knowledge is Best with Virtue). As we grow in knowledge, we must remember that true wisdom is only valuable when guided by moral principles and a commitment to the common good. Through Project 25, we are not only encouraging informed decision-making but also fostering the virtues of integrity, justice, and compassion—values that are essential in building a just and democratic society.

Through its emotionally charged performances, impactful musical numbers and compelling narrative, Project 25 explores the importance of political engagement, the dangers of corruption, and the power of unity and community action. It also highlights themes of resilience, hope, personal responsibility, and the consequences of inaction, which are highly relevant as we prepare to elect new leaders who will shape the nation’s future.

Following each show, the audience will be encouraged to sign the Covenant for Honest and Peaceful Elections. By doing so, they will pledge to respect the people’s will and protect and promote the sanctity of the electoral process. The covenant also reflects a shared commitment to honesty, accountability, and peace while advocating for informed and conscientious votership. It calls on us to pursue ethical leadership and good governance, safeguard the young people’s future, and stand with the people and for the people, especially the marginalized, the poor, the vulnerable, and the oppressed.
