Zamboanga City, Philippines. For three unforgettable days, November 15-17, 2024, the Claret Formation Center in Zamboanga City became a sacred ground where hearts were rekindled, spirits uplifted, and lives transformed. The Claret Youth Camp + Claret Way East Asia 2024 Re-Echo with the theme “Spreading the Flame of the Spirit” which was held there, was a call to ignite faith, foster unity, and empower the Claretian youth to embody the missionary dream of St. Anthony Mary Claret. What seemed like an impossible feat—condensing the wisdom and spirit of a 10-day camp in Ormoc into three short days in Zamboanga—became a testament to God’s providence. The event was not merely a re-echo but a living, breathing journey of faith, where every activity, session and encounter ignited in the participants, the Holy Spirit’s flame within.

The re-echo spanned three transformative days, beginning with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Larry Miranda, CMF, grounding everyone in God’s grace. The first day began with vulnerability as youth poured out their burdens and reflected deeply on their personal struggles. Guided by the poignant words of the speakers, Ate Coleen and Kuya Austin, participants were invited to step barefoot onto the blessed ground—symbolizing openness and humility before the Spirit. The day closed with renewed spirits, already setting the tone for the transformative days ahead. Day 2 began with Mass, followed by the first session, where stories of faith were shared in small circles, where laughter and tears intertwined, creating bonds of solidarity and understanding. The anointing session symbolized spiritual rebirth, while the Claret Race challenged the participants physically and spiritually, teaching urgency in responding to God’s mission while fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As night fell, the grounds were transformed into a sacred space for Taizé prayer and Eucharistic adoration, and confessions created a sacred atmosphere, culminating in a joyful praise and worship session. The final day began with a living rosary followed by reflections on the weekend’s impact and the creation of action plans to bring the Claretian flame to their communities. The camp concluded with an awarding ceremony and a celebratory Eucharistic Mass. Fr. Martin, CMF, reminded everyone that the Claretian ministry is not just an organization—it is a home, a sanctuary where every youth is welcomed, cherished, and empowered to be their truest selves.

From vulnerable beginnings to empowered endings, the CYC + CWAE 2024 Re-Echo proved that the Holy Spirit’s work knows no boundaries—not time, nor space, nor circumstance. It was a heartfelt reminder that even in the brevity of three days, God’s grace can achieve the extraordinary. The resounding joy of the youth echoed far beyond the event, their hearts ablaze with purpose and passion. As they left the holy grounds, their resolve to spread the flame of the Spirit burned brighter than ever.
