Isabela City, Philippines. Sixty-four (64) Grade 10 and forty-three (43) Grade 12 students of Claret School of Tumahubong (CST), Muslims and Christians, underwent a short retreat on February 17-18 and 20-21, 2025, respectively at the Farmland Resort in Isabela City, Basilan Province.

Sch. Mac Jhon Buendever, CMF, who is also a faculty member of CST, facilitated the recollection and invited the moving up and graduating students to recall their spiritual, academic, and life journey these past few years and use them as their stepping stone in their next level of studies. Mac Jhon made them reflect centering on the theme “Journeying in faith: in respect, love, and unity.”

After the overnight retreat, the students, with the permission of their respective parents and agreed upon during their PTA Meeting, had an excursion in one of the beautiful beaches of Basilan, in Luksungbang, Lamitan City.

The students and teachers went home refreshed, not only physically but also spiritually, ready to face the next challenges in life after moving up.

Claret School of Tumahubong, through its programs and values, aims to live up the hope that whatever beliefs one may have, it is not a hindrance to praying, reflecting, and moving up together. CST is a school full of hope for the Pilgrims of Hope in Tumahubong and nearby barangays.

It is also the very school where Fr. Rhoel Gallardo, CMF, a Claretian Martyr full of hope, served as School Director when he was kidnapped in 2000 and whose life was portrayed in the movie “In Thy Name” (2025) by Viva Films, portrayed by Marc Carlos “McCoy” De Leon and directed by Ceasar Soriano and Rommel Galapia Ruiz.
